Sankar Machinery

You can find Sankar Machinery right on Exhibition Road. It’s a central spot, so there are always people walking past the front door. We deal with all kinds of machinery here. The shop is filled with different pieces of equipment, and sometimes it feels a bit cramped when a new shipment arrives. We don’t really go for the high-end showroom look. Instead, we have shelves and crates filled with what people actually need to get their jobs done. The lights inside are a bit bright, but it helps when you’re looking at small parts or reading manuals. During the day, it gets quite loud outside with the traffic on Exhibition Road, but we’ve gotten used to it. We spend a lot of time talking to customers who come in with questions about which machine might work for their specific situation. We don’t use any scripts or fancy sales talk; we just tell them what we know based on what we’ve seen over the years. Some days are slower than others, but there’s always something to organize or a piece of equipment to check on. It’s a practical business for practical people. We don’t have a big staff, just a few of us who have been around machinery for a long time. We open up early and stay until the evening, making sure everything is locked up tight before we head home. We keep a kettle in the back for tea, which helps during those long afternoons when the rain is coming down hard.
