Our shop, Meellow Mood Garments Private Limited, is located in Kankarbagh. If you know the A/25 Housing Colony, that’s where you’ll find us. We are in the building belonging to Sri Ashok Kumar, who is the son of Umesh Dhari Sharma. Kankarbagh is one of those places in Patna where everyone seems to know everyone else. It’s a big residential patch, so we get a lot of locals walking by every afternoon. We chose the name because we wanted something that sounded easy-going for the people living nearby. The work itself isn't always easy, though. There’s a lot of lifting and sorting involved with all these garments. We have different sections for different types of clothes. Sometimes the weather in Bihar makes the deliveries late, but we just deal with it as it comes. We aren't trying to be the biggest company in the world. We just want to provide clothes that people feel okay wearing to the market or at home. The staff here stays quite late sometimes when a new shipment arrives from the factory. We usually sit around with some chai after the main work is done and talk about what sold well that week. It’s a very local vibe here. No one wears suits to work in this office. We just wear what we make and keep the fans running. It’s a practical way to live and work.
