Manju Devi

Manju Devi's place is tucked away on Road No 4A in East Indra Nagar, Kankarbagh. Patna is a big city, but our corner of it feels a bit smaller once you get into the residential lanes. This isn't a massive supermarket with bright lights and music. It’s more of a local setup where we keep the essentials. We have things like cooking oil, sugar, and various snacks that the local kids like to buy after school. Running a shop in Kankarbagh means seeing the same faces every day. We know who wants which brand of soap and who prefers a specific type of rice for their dinner. The space is quite small, so it can feel a bit tight when a few people are waiting at the same time. I try to keep things organized, but sometimes the boxes just pile up in the corners when the supply comes in. We don't have a website or anything like that. If people need something, they just walk over or send their kids with a little list. The road outside can get a bit bumpy and dusty, especially during the monsoon season when the puddles get deep. We just do our work and try to make sure we don't run out of the basics. It’s a quiet life mostly, just managing the inventory and chatting with the neighbors who stop by for a minute.
