Maa Re-Rolling Mills

We spend most of our days here at C-20 in the Patliputra Industrial Area. It gets pretty loud and hot because of the machinery, but that is just how a re-rolling mill works. We have been in this spot for quite a while now. Most mornings start with checking the rollers and making sure the metal is moving through like it should. Sometimes things get stuck or the heat isn't quite right, so we have to stop and fix it before we can keep going. It’s not a fancy place by any means. There is dust on the floors and grease on our hands, but we get the work done. People come by to see what we have ready or to ask about specific sizes. We usually have the truck drivers waiting outside in the lane while we finish up a load. It’s a busy part of town, so there is always noise from the other factories nearby too. We just focus on what is in front of us. Most of the guys here have worked together for years, so we know each other's habits. Lunch is usually eaten sitting on whatever is available in the corner of the shed. When the sun goes down, we start cleaning up the scrap and getting things ready for the next shift to take over. It’s just regular work that needs doing. Sometimes the power goes out and we just have to wait.
