Bihar Tailoring House

The shop is located on Upendra Path, right in the middle of S.K Colony. If you walk past Singhsan Nivas, you’ll probably hear the sewing machines running. We spend most of our days sitting behind the counters with measuring tapes around our necks. There are piles of fabric everywhere, mostly cottons and silks that people bring in. It’s a small space, so we have to be careful where we step. Some people want their clothes fixed quickly, while others are okay with waiting a week or two for a full suit. We do a lot of traditional wear because that’s what most neighbors around here ask for. The light inside the shop isn't always the brightest, but we make it work with a few extra lamps by the needles. We’ve known the families in this area for a long time. It’s common for people to just stop by to say hello or ask about a button that fell off. We don't use fancy computers to track everything; most notes are written down in a big ledger that sits by the door. On hot afternoons, the ceiling fan just barely keeps us cool, but the work continues anyway. Every piece of clothing has a different story, and we see it all from our little spot in the colony. It’s just a regular tailoring place where we try to get the fit right for everyone who walks through the door at number 13.
