Jan Jagran Sansthan

Our office is tucked away in B1 of the Patliputra Colony in Patna. It’s a residential area, so it’s a bit quieter than the main roads of Bihar, but the traffic still gets loud during the day. We’ve got a small space where we keep all our files and a few extra chairs for when people stop by. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we haven't gotten around to it yet. Usually, there’s someone here by nine in the morning to open up. We spend a lot of time on the phone or talking to folks who walk in off the street. Patna gets incredibly hot, so the cooler is always running and making that humming noise in the background. We don't have any big signs or neon lights, just the name on the door. Most people in the colony know where we are if they need to find us. We deal with a lot of local issues and try to keep things organized. It feels more like a house than a workplace sometimes because of the location. There is a small garden out front that someone tries to keep alive, though the dust makes it tough. We drink a lot of chai throughout the afternoon while we go through the lists and documents. It’s a slow and steady kind of place where things eventually get done without much fuss or bother.
