Our place is at A-18 in the Industrial Estate along Sirhind Road. It is one of those old-school industrial areas where everyone knows everyone else’s business because the units are so close together. If you walk down the road, you can hear the machines running from every building. We focus on tools here. It’s not the kind of clean work where you stay tidy all day. Most of us go home with grease under our fingernails and that smell of cut metal on our shirts. Sirhind Road stays busy with traffic, so there is always a background hum of engines and horns. We have been in this specific shed at A-18 for quite some time. The roof is high, which helps a bit when it gets humid, but it still gets stuffy when all the machines are running at once. We don't have a big reception area or anyone to greet you at the door. You just walk in and find whoever isn't busy at a machine. We keep our supplies stacked in the corners and try to keep things organized, though it usually gets messy again by Wednesday. It is a straightforward operation. We show up, we do the work, and we head home when the sun goes down. There is nothing complicated about how we run things here at Jyoti Tools. It is just a shop on Sirhind Road where we work hard and keep to ourselves most of the time.
