Bhateri Kalan

Out in the village area of Bhatheri Kalan in Patiala, life is a bit different than in the big city. The entity known as Bhateri Kalan is right here where the fields start and the air is a bit clearer. It’s a local spot that serves the people living in this specific part of Patiala. We don't have the big traffic jams or the tall buildings you see downtown. Instead, we have the sounds of the countryside and the local families who have lived here for generations. The building is simple and sturdy, built to handle the weather we get in this part of Punjab. We aren't trying to be a fancy international school; we are just a local place for the kids in this village and the nearby ones. Most of us who work here know the students' parents and even their grandparents. It’s that kind of place. The day starts early when the sun comes up over the fields. We spend our time in the classrooms or out in the yard when the weather is nice. There is always a bit of mud if it rains, and the kids usually have it on their shoes, but we don't mind much. It’s just part of being out here in the rural area. We provide a space for learning and growing up without any of the corporate polish you find in bigger towns. It's just home for us.
