If you look for P.O. Box No. 11 near the Kakoshi Char Rasta, you will find us. Sarvoday Sat Isabgol Factory has been operating off the State Highway for quite some time now. It’s a busy intersection and there is always a lot of dust from the passing vehicles. We deal with Isabgol every single day and the fine powder gets everywhere. You can see it on the windows and the desks. We don't bother cleaning it too much during the shift because it just comes back. The factory floor is where most of the action is. We have a lot of bags stacked up against the walls waiting to be moved. The office is just a side room where we keep the ledgers. We still like writing things down on paper. It feels more real that way. The heat can be a bit much in the middle of the day so we take turns sitting near the big fan. Everyone knows their job and we don't need to say much to each other. We just get on with it. The trucks pull in from the highway at all hours. Sometimes the drivers stay for a cup of tea before heading out again. It’s a steady rhythm of work that doesn't change much from year to year. We are just part of the landscape out here by the crossroads. It’s not a glamorous job but it is ours and it works.
