Usha Martin Limited

Our office is out in the village of Barbhuniabasan, which is part of the West Midnapur district. We are set up at Manmathanath Nandi’s place near the Kankra Atmaram post office. It’s quite a rural setting compared to some of our other locations. You can see fields from the window and hear birds instead of traffic. It’s a peaceful place to work, though getting supplies delivered can take a bit longer than in the city. We handle things for Usha Martin Limited from this quiet corner of West Bengal. The building is simple and stays relatively cool even when the sun is out. We have our desks set up in the main room. It’s not a large space, so we have to stay organized. Most of us walk or bike to work because we live nearby. We know everyone in the village, so people often stop by just to say hello or ask how things are going. We don’t have much in the way of high-tech equipment, just what we need to get the job done. Sometimes the power is a bit unreliable, so we’ve learned to save our work often. It’s a slower pace of life here, but we still keep our schedules. We take a long break in the middle of the day when it’s hottest. It’s just how we do things in this part of the country, staying productive while keeping things very simple.
