Shree Annapurna Rice & Pulse Mills

Shree Annapurna Rice & Pulse Mills is out at units 208 and 209 in the G.I.D.C. area on Chalkiya Road. It is a big space because we need the room for the milling machines and all the sacks of grain we keep in stock. The air always smells like toasted rice and earth when we are running at full speed in the afternoons. We spend most of our day checking the quality of the pulses and making sure the machines are sorted. It’s a dusty job, and by the end of the shift, everyone usually has a layer of flour on their clothes. We have been in the G.I.D.C. for a while now, and it’s a good community of other businesses doing similar work. We aren't trying to win any awards for how the place looks. It’s a mill, after all. There are stacks of bags everywhere and the floor is always covered in bits of husk despite our cleaning. We just focus on getting the rice and pulses cleaned and packed so they can go out to the local shops. Chalkiya Road gets pretty busy with trucks and traffic, so we are used to the noise. It’s just honest work. We don’t have fancy marketing people or a sales team. It’s just us, the grain, and the machines. We work hard to keep everything moving. If the power stays on and the grain is good, we are happy.
