This is a government college, so things move at a certain pace around here. We are based in Patti Mehar, Ambala, and the building has that typical sturdy, government look to it with wide stairs and high walls. There is always a lot of paperwork to deal with, from scholarship forms to exam registrations for the new semester. Since it's a PG college, the students are a bit older and more serious about their futures, though you still see them hanging out near the tea stalls outside the main gate. The 134003 area is familiar to most people around here, and we get students from the city and the surrounding villages. The facilities are basic—we have a library with old wooden shelves and classrooms with heavy benches that have been here for years. It’s not a place with shiny new things, but it serves the purpose. We spend a lot of our day just managing the sheer number of people who walk through the doors for various reasons. Sometimes the corridors are a bit dark, and the paint is peeling in a few corners, but that’s just how it is with these older public buildings. We focus on getting the exams done and the results out on time for everyone. The staff room is always a bit cluttered with tea cups and bundles of papers. It’s an honest place where people come to get their degrees and move on with their lives. We just keep the doors open.
