Narendra Colours is located in the middle of the busy Sarafa Bazar, specifically in the Gur Khand Katala section. This area is always packed with people and carts moving around. My shop is where we keep all the paints, dyes, and wall colors. When you walk in, you’ll probably smell the pigments and thinners right away. It’s a strong smell, but I don't even notice it anymore. We have rows and rows of tins and plastic buckets. I spend a lot of time mixing colors by hand or using the old machine in the corner to get the shade just right. People come in with a scrap of cloth or a piece of paper wanting to match a color for their house. It’s not always easy to get it perfect, but I try my best. The shop floor is covered in different colored drips from years of work. Sarafa Bazar Gur Khand Katala is a historic part of town, so the buildings are old and the space is a bit tight. I have to keep the stock organized or I’d never find anything. Sometimes the dust from the street gets on the lids, so I have to wipe them down before showing them to customers. It’s hard work, especially when I have to carry those big twenty-liter buckets out to someone’s vehicle. But I’ve been doing this at this address for a long time.
