Nakoda Traders

We are located in Surana Market, right by the Old Bus Stand. It is a very crowded area. There are always people moving, carrying things, or arguing about prices. Nakoda Traders is tucked in there among all the other shops. You have to look for us, but most locals know where Surana Market is. The space we have is quite small, so we have to be careful how we stack our stock. If we aren't careful, something will fall over. We spend most of the morning unloading things and the afternoon trying to work through it all. It’s a lot of physical work. My back usually aches by the end of the day. We don't have any fancy signs, just the name written up there. The floor is made of cement and is a bit cracked in the corners. We don't mind it. It’s a place for work, not for looking pretty. When the buses pull in nearby, you can smell the exhaust fumes. It’s part of the atmosphere here. We have a small stool where we sit when there are no customers. We talk about the weather or how the prices of things are going up. It’s a simple way to spend the day. We close up when the market starts to quiet down, which is usually quite late. Then we go home and do it all again. It's what we know.
