Mahaveer Masala Udhyog

You can usually smell Mahaveer Masala Udhyog before you actually see it. We are situated near Subhas Circle right on Station Road. The air inside the shop is always thick with the scent of ground chilies, turmeric, and coriander. We spend our days pouring spices into the grinders and making sure the powder is fine enough for cooking. There are big jute bags leaning against the walls, overflowing with raw ingredients we get from the markets. The noise from the machines can be a bit much, so we don't talk too loudly when they are running. The floor is always stained a bit yellow or red depending on what we ground that morning. It is a busy corner of the city, so there is always someone stopping in because they ran out of something for their dinner. We don't have a big storefront with glass windows or anything. It is more of an open space where the dust can fly out onto the street. We use old scales to weigh everything out by hand. Some people have been coming here since we first opened our doors years ago. It is just honest work, getting the flavors right so people can go home and cook for their families. We keep the doors open even when it is hot outside. The fans just move the spicy air around, but we are used to it by now. It is just what we do.
