Chhagan Lal Motiji

Our shop, Chhagan Lal Motiji, is right in the middle of the Ranakpur Main Bazar in Sadri. If you’ve ever walked through the bazar, you know how it feels—lots of people, the smell of food, and cows occasionally wandering past the front door. We’ve been here for a long time, and the name on the sign is something we are proud of because it’s been part of the community for years. The shop itself is a bit dark inside to keep the heat out, and we have shelves that go all the way back. It’s not a modern store with bright lights; it’s more comfortable than that. We sit on the floor or on small stools and talk to whoever comes in. Some people come just to chat about the weather or the local news while they look around. We don’t use any marketing tricks. We just sell what people in Sadri need and try to be fair about it. The pace of life here is slower, and we don’t feel the need to rush things. When the festival season starts, the bazar gets incredibly crowded, and we stay open late. It’s a simple way of living, and we like being right in the heart of the town. Everyone knows the name Chhagan Lal Motiji around here, and we just keep the doors open every day like we always have.
