Hotel Jambheswar

Hotel Jambheswar sits right on Sumerpur Road and it is usually pretty busy because of the trucks. We are exactly opposite the Indian Petrol Pump so a lot of people pull over here after they fill up their tanks. It is not a fancy hotel with big rooms or anything, just a place for people to sit down and have a meal while they are traveling. The road noise never really stops. I spend a lot of my time wiping down the tables because the dust from the highway comes in all day long. We started this place because there weren't many spots to eat around here. Usually, it is just me and my nephew working the counter and the kitchen. The fans don't do much when it gets really hot in June, but people still stop by for tea. We have some basic benches and the menu is just whatever we cooked that morning. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to use candles, which makes it hard to see the bills. It is a simple life and we know most of the regular drivers who pass through this way every week. They tell us stories about their trips while they wait for their food. It gets lonely sometimes when the road is quiet at night, but then a bus arrives and we are busy again.
