Chunni Lal Kalaji

We are located right on Ranakpur Road in Sadri. It gets quite busy here because of the road, but we have been here for a long time. People usually stop by when they are heading toward the temples or coming back from work. Our family runs this place and it’s basically what we do every single day from morning until it gets dark. The building isn’t anything fancy but it works for us and the people around here know where to find us. Sometimes the weather gets really hot and we just sit inside and wait for the next person to walk in. We handle everything ourselves, from cleaning up the front to making sure everything is where it should be on the shelves. It is a quiet kind of life most days. We don’t really change much around here because people like things the way they are. My father used to sit in the same spot I do now. We know most of the people who pass by by their first names. If you are walking down Rankpur Road you will see the sign and the door is usually open unless it’s raining really hard. It’s just a simple spot for the locals to get what they need without having to go too far into the bigger towns. We just keep things moving and try to stay busy enough to keep the lights on and the shelves full for everyone who comes by.
