C T C Hotel

If you’re driving down Sumerpur Road near Ramsiya, you’ll see our place, C T C Hotel. It isn’t one of those fancy glass buildings you see in the big cities. It’s just a solid place where people can pull over and take a break from the road. We get a lot of truck drivers and families who are traveling long distances. The tables are heavy wood and the fans on the ceiling hum pretty loud, but they keep the air moving. We spend a lot of time in the kitchen chopping vegetables and making sure there’s enough hot tea for whoever walks in. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we’re usually too busy with the day-to-day stuff to get around to it. Sometimes the rain comes down hard on the roof and you can’t hear yourself think, but it’s a nice sound really. We don’t have a massive menu, just the basic stuff that fills you up. The parking lot is mostly gravel, so it gets noisy when the big rigs pull in at night. We’ve been here at this spot for quite some time now, and we’ve seen the road change a lot, but the work we do inside stays pretty much the same. It’s about keeping the place open and making sure the lights stay on for the travelers who need a rest before they keep going on their journey.
