Bajrang Highway Hotel

Bajrang Highway Hotel is right on the Sumerpur Road. Since we are out on the highway, we mostly see people who are traveling long distances. It is a large, open space with plenty of room for trucks and cars to park out front. The wind blows a lot of dust in from the road, so things aren't always sparkling clean, but we keep the kitchen running and the tea hot. We have some basic wooden tables and benches where people can sit down and take a rest from driving. The menu is simple and written on a board near the entrance. We don't have any waitstaff in fancy uniforms; it is just a few of us cooking and serving whatever is ready. The kitchen stays busy with big pots of dal and stacks of rotis being made over the fire. It gets very loud when the big trucks pull in, and the air smells like diesel and spices. Some people just stop for a quick glass of tea, while others stay longer to eat a full meal. We are open for long hours because the highway never really sleeps. It is a rough and ready kind of place, but it serves its purpose for the drivers and travelers who need a break on their way to Sumerpur. We just keep our heads down and work through the shifts until it is time to rest.
