Shri Bhagwati Medical & General Store

Shri Bhagwati Medical & General Store is tucked away in the Sai Ashriwad Apartment building on Cavin Cross Road. Being in Bhayandar East, we get a mix of people from the apartments and the nearby streets. It’s a combined shop, so we have the medicine counter on one side and the general items on the other. It saves people a trip when they can get their prescriptions and a bottle of shampoo or some tea leaves in the same place. The shop at A-4 is not very wide, but we’ve built the shelves high to make room for all the different boxes and bottles. Sometimes it takes us a minute to find a specific item if it’s tucked in the back, but we usually know where everything is. It’s mostly just us working here, keeping track of what is expiring and what needs to be reordered from the distributors in Thane. The traffic on Cavin Cross Road can get a bit loud, but inside it’s usually just the sound of the fan and people asking for their usual stuff. We don’t do much fancy decorating; the products themselves fill up all the space we have. It feels like a neighborhood hub where people stop to chat for a second while waiting for their change. We stay open late because health needs do not really follow a schedule. It is a simple, honest way to make a living in this busy suburb.
