Purple Salon N Academy

Our place is in Poonam Sagar Complex, across two shops, 11 and 12. We’ve been here in Mira Road for a good few years now. It’s right near Allahabad Bank, so most people use that as a landmark. We call it a salon and an academy because we also teach people how to cut hair and do makeup. It’s often quite noisy because of the students practicing, but we like the energy. The walls are painted purple mostly. It’s not a perfect paint job, but it gives the place some character. We have a lot of stuff going on at once. One side is for customers and the other side is where the teaching happens. Sometimes the classes spill over. Mira Road is a busy area and we get all sorts of people walking in. We don’t have a big corporate office or anything. It’s just us and the students. We’ve had some of the same staff since we opened. We make tea in the back and usually share some snacks in the afternoon. It’s a bit of a squeeze when it’s full, but we make it work. If you’re looking for a fancy, quiet spa experience, this probably isn’t it. We’re more about getting the work done and helping people learn the trade. It’s a real, working shop. We deal with the usual daily issues like leaky taps or blown bulbs, just like anyone else. It's a busy life but we enjoy being part of the Mira Road community every single day.
