Bhayander East is a noisy place, especially around Doddanna Industrial Town. Our workshop is at B 1 on the 7th Cross. It is an industrial area, so there is always the sound of machines or someone loading a truck nearby. At Jay Brahmani Art Silver, the air usually has that metallic smell from the silver we work with. It isn't a showroom with bright lights and mirrors. It is a place where things are actually made. The floors get dusty and our hands are rarely clean by lunchtime. We spend the hours sitting at the benches, focusing on small details. Sometimes the power goes out for a bit, and we just sit and wait or talk until it comes back on. The 7th Cross is a bit tucked away, so if you are new to the area, you might miss the turn. We have a few fans going, but it still gets quite warm in the afternoons. Most of the people working here live nearby, so we all know the local shortcuts. It is hard work, and your back starts to ache after a few hours of leaning over the silver pieces. We don't have a big sign or anything, just the work getting done inside. People know where we are if they need us. It’s just a simple setup with tools that have been used for a long time. No one here wears a suit; we just wear clothes we don’t mind getting dirty. It’s honest work and it fills our days.
