Jaggi Machines

Our place is in the Arunoday Industrial Estate on Sativali Road. It’s unit number 3. It is a busy area with a lot of trucks moving in and out of the estate at all hours. We handle machinery here. Some days it is just a lot of cleaning and oiling the equipment to make sure everything stays in good shape. Other days we are busy putting things together or taking them apart to find a problem. The roof leaks a little when it rains hard, so we have to move the smaller machines out of the way. We’ve been meaning to fix it, but there is always another job to do first. It’s mostly just me and a couple of helpers. We’ve known each other a long time. We eat lunch together sitting on some wooden crates in the back. The Sativali Road area can get really dusty in the dry season. We keep the doors open to let some light in because the overhead bulbs aren't very bright. People come in asking if we can fix this or that. Usually, if it’s a machine, we can figure it out. We have a lot of old tools that I got from my uncle. They still work better than the cheap new ones you find today. We don't have a website or anything like that. We just answer the phone and talk to whoever walks in the door.
