If you ever walk down Jari Mari Palki Road in Tisgaon, you might pass by House No 6129. That is where we run Avinash Food. We are right near Parvati Nandanvan, which is a nice landmark for people who get lost trying to find us. This isn't a factory; it's a place where we actually make the food ourselves. The kitchen gets quite warm in the afternoons, especially when we have everything running at once. We started this business because we wanted to provide decent meals to the neighborhood. The house is old but it works for what we need. We keep our ingredients fresh and store them in the back rooms where it is cooler. You won't find any corporate slogans on our walls. We just have a few tables and a lot of pots and pans. Sometimes the road outside gets very crowded with people and traffic, but inside we just focus on the cooking. My cousins help out with the prep work and the cleaning. We do things the old way, mostly by hand, because that is how we learned. It takes a lot of time and our backs sometimes ache by the evening. We don't have a fancy delivery fleet, just a couple of scooters. We make sure the food is packed well so it stays hot. It is a simple life here in Tisgaon, and we are happy to be part of the community.
