Sree Narayana College

Palakkad is known for its heat and its greenery, and Sree Narayana College is right in the middle of it all. We are located in the 678001 area of Kerala. The college has a long history, named after the reformer, but day-to-day, we are just a place where students come to get their degrees. The atmosphere here is very typical of a Kerala college—lots of trees, students wearing traditional clothes on special days, and a lot of talk in the canteen. Our buildings are older, with those high ceilings that help a bit when the sun is really beating down on the town. We don't have air conditioning in every room, so the windows stay open to catch whatever breeze comes through. You can hear the sounds of the town outside while you're sitting in class. The library is a quiet spot where a lot of people go to hide away and study for their finals. We have a lot of students who come in from the outskirts of Palakkad by bus every morning. The staff here is used to the routine. We deal with the monsoon rains and the summer heat while keeping the classes going as planned. It’s not a fancy private institution with glass walls; it’s a solid place where people come to work hard. We just take it one day at a time, making sure the exams are conducted and the results come out for the kids.
