Mes Medical College

Down in the Perinthalmanna taluk of Kerala, you will find Mes Medical College. It is a very busy place, as you can probably imagine with a medical institution. It isn't just about sitting in classrooms; there is a whole hospital attached to the college. You always see the students running around in their white coats, moving between the lecture halls and the different hospital wards. It’s a serious kind of place because everyone is focused on learning how to be a doctor or a nurse. The Kerala landscape means the campus is very green, especially when the monsoon rains hit and everything stays damp for weeks. We don’t really do any fancy marketing or use big words to describe what we do. The days are quite long, starting early in the morning and often ending late at night for the staff and the students on duty. Our buildings are large and designed to be practical, handling hundreds of people every single day. Patients come in from all over the local area, so the students get a real look at what medical work is actually like. The offices are usually full of thick textbooks and student records piled up on the desks. It can get a bit chaotic when things are busy, but that’s just how it is. We are just a group of people working together to keep the college and the hospital running here in this part of Perinthalmanna.
