Krishna Engineering Services is situated in Thekkepura, which is right near the Malampuzha area. It’s a beautiful part of the world, but inside the workshop, it’s all about iron and steel. We set up shop here because it’s where we live and where we wanted to work. Most days start early before the sun gets too high, though the workshop stays cool enough for most of the morning. We handle a lot of service work for the local community. It might be fixing a gate, repairing a pump, or something more technical for a local facility. We have a small crew and we all know each other’s strengths. Sometimes we disagree on how to approach a particular repair, but we usually figure it out over a cup of tea. We don’t have a big marketing budget or anything like that. We just rely on the fact that we’ve been here in Malampuzha for a long time and people know we are reliable. The tools we use are well-worn but they do the job. You can usually find us by looking for the workshop with the most scrap metal piled neatly out front. We like the work we do. It’s tangible. You start with something broken and by the end of the day, it’s working again. There is a lot of satisfaction in that, even if our hands are always dirty. That is just how life is for us here in Thekkepura.
