About Korian Granite – Building & Construction Material in Palakkad
Korian Granite is out on Chekanoor Road, right by the Manoor West Post. If you come by this way, you’ll see the stacks of stone sitting out in the open. It’s a dusty job, and most of the guys here have it on their clothes by the end of the shift. The road can get a bit congested when the big lorries are trying to back in to unload the new slabs. We spend a lot of time just shifting pieces around so we can get to the ones at the back of the pile. It isn’t the most glamorous work, but the granite looks nice once it’s all cleaned up. The weather out here in the Manoor West area can be unpredictable, so we’re always keeping an eye on the sky to make sure we cover anything that needs it. There’s a small tea stall down the road where we usually take our breaks. Most of the people who stop by are local folks from the surrounding villages who are working on their houses. We don’t have much in the way of a showroom, so people just walk through the yard to see what’s available. It’s a simple operation really, just us and the stone and the daily grind on Chekanoor Road. The slabs are heavy and cold, and the days are usually long, but that is just the way it is at Korian Granite.
