Chaithannya Marbles

Chaithannya Marbles is located in Punchapadaam, which is under the Ottappalam Taluk. We have a yard where we keep all the stone and marble slabs. It’s a heavy job, as you can imagine. We spend most of our time moving things around with the crane or helping people pick out the right piece of stone for their floors. It’s often quite dusty and loud here with the cutting machines running. We aren’t polished salespeople; we are just guys who know a lot about stone. Ottappalam is a nice area to be in, and Punchapadaam is a quiet enough spot for a marble yard. We get a lot of locals coming in who are building houses or fixing up their old ones. We just show them what we have in stock and tell them the price. There’s no pressure. Sometimes we have to wait a while for new shipments to arrive from the quarries, and other times the yard is overflowing with slabs. We just manage the space we have. The sun can be quite strong out in the yard, so we take our breaks under the shed when we can. It’s a simple business. We open up, move some heavy stone, talk to a few customers, and go home. We’ve been doing this for a while now and we know the trade well. It’s not fancy, but it’s steady work.
