Empee Breweries Ltd.

Our place is out on Nida Menonpara Road in Kanjikode. If you’ve been around this part of the area, you know it’s mostly industrial and gets pretty dusty when the trucks go by. Empee Breweries Ltd. has been operating from here for a good while. The gates are usually open early in the morning because that’s when the first shifts start. It’s a big site, so there is always some noise from the machinery or people moving things around the yard. We have a small office area where the paperwork gets handled, and it’s usually a bit of a mess with logbooks and pens that never seem to work when you need them. The air around here sometimes smells like grain or just the general outdoors. It’s not a quiet job, but we like the pace of it. We all wear sturdy boots because the ground isn't always even. Lunch happens whenever there’s a break in the schedule, usually sitting around one of the big tables in the back. We don't go in for anything too formal. Most of us have been working here together long enough that we don’t need to say much to know what needs doing. It’s just steady work on the road out here. We keep the equipment running and make sure the trucks get loaded up without too much trouble. It's a lot of physical work, but it's what we do and we are used to the heat and the noise.
