Sarojini Naidu Memorial High School

Renapur is a quiet place and we’ve been here for a long time. Our school, Sarojini Naidu Memorial High School, is right in the heart of the Latur area. People know us for being a steady part of the neighborhood. The morning bell rings and you see kids walking down the dusty paths from all over Renapur. It’s not a fancy place but it does the job. We have classrooms that have seen many faces over the years. The walls might need a fresh coat of paint now and then, but that’s just how things go. There is a lot of noise during the breaks. You can hear the shouting from the playground across the street. We try to keep things simple. Most of the families around here work hard and they send their children to us expecting them to learn their books. We don't have big fancy buses, just the local kids and some who come from a bit further out in the district. The weather in Latur gets quite hot, so the afternoons can be a bit slow in the classrooms. Teachers use the chalkboards and everyone just gets on with their work. It’s a basic setup but it’s ours. We have a small yard where the students play after their lessons. If you walk past our gates in Renapur, you’ll see us just doing what we do every day without much fuss or fanfare.
