We are over at M-4B, Aradhana Bhawan, in the Azadpur Commercial Complex. If you know anything about Azadpur, you know it’s the place that never really sleeps. We handle a lot of the paperwork and the trading side of things from this office. It’s not a very big space, and usually, there are files and ledgers piled up on the desks. We have been operating under the name Sumer Chand & Sons for a long time now. It’s a family thing, passed down through the years. Most of our day is spent talking to transporters and people bringing in goods from the outskirts. It’s noisy outside with the trucks and the laborers, but inside we just try to keep things organized. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing team. Our business comes from the relationships we’ve built over decades in this market. Sometimes the phone doesn't stop ringing and other times we are just sitting there waiting for the next shipment to be cleared. We drink a lot of tea to stay awake during the early hours. It is a very practical, no-nonsense kind of place. We don't believe in making things look better than they are. It’s just hard work and making sure the goods move from one place to another without too much trouble. That’s how we have always done it and it seems to work out okay for everyone involved.
