Kimberley Apparel Pvt.Ltd. is tucked away on the second floor of E-104 in Ashok Nagar, Phase-I. It's a busy residential neighborhood that turned into a business hub over the years. You have to climb a narrow set of stairs to get to us. The office is always full of fabric samples and thread rolls. It’s a bit cramped because we have so much stuff everywhere. We don't have a showroom with mannequins. It’s mostly sewing machines and cutting tables. The light in the afternoons is really good for checking the colors of the cloth. We’ve been in Ashok Nagar for a while and we know the rhythms of the street below. The vegetable sellers come by around four, and it gets quite noisy. We drink a lot of chai from the corner stall. My staff are mostly local women who have been sewing for years. We aren't trying to be a big brand; we just make clothes that people need. Sometimes the roof leaks a little when the monsoon is heavy, so we have to move the stock around. It’s just a normal workshop. We work hard, we talk a lot, and we try to get the orders out on time.
