Our factory is at B-64 A on Lawrence Road, right in the heart of the industrial area. It’s an old building, but it works for what we need. Since we handle fruit, the smell inside changes depending on the season. One month it’s mangoes, the next it might be something else. We spend a lot of time washing and sorting through the fruit that comes in on the trucks. Not everything is perfect, so we have to pick out the bad ones by hand. It’s wet work, and we wear rubber boots most of the day. The floors are always being hosed down to keep things clean. We have big vats where the fruit gets processed. It gets quite loud when the peelers are running. Lawrence Road is always jammed with traffic, so we have to time our deliveries just right or the trucks get stuck for hours. We don't have a corporate office with fancy rugs. It’s just desks near the production line so we can keep an eye on everything. We take turns making tea for everyone in the afternoon. It’s a simple operation, really. We just try to make good products that people will want to eat. Sometimes the machines act up and we have to fix them ourselves. It’s hard work, but seeing the jars all lined up at the end of the day feels good.
