Punjabi Chatoorey

We are located right on the dividing road between Sector 7 and Sector 8 in Rohini. If you know this part of Delhi, you know how busy it gets with all the cars and people walking to the markets. Our shop, Punjabi Chatoorey, is at B 4/158, and it’s not a very big space, but we make it work. Most of the people who come here are looking for a quick snack while they are out doing their shopping or heading home from work. We don't have much room for people to sit down, so most folks just stand around the tables outside or lean against their scooters while they eat. It can get a bit chaotic in the evenings when the crowd picks up, and sometimes the orders get a bit mixed up if we are moving too fast. We are just a local spot, not one of those big food chains you see in the malls. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, and the counter is a bit worn down from years of use, but it’s a real place. My cousins and I run the show, and we are usually shouting over the noise of the traffic to hear what people want. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing person; we just open the shutters and start cooking. It’s hard work being on your feet all day in the Delhi heat, but seeing the same faces every day makes it feel okay.
