We are over here in Ashok Vihar Phase II at Shivam Apartments. It’s an older building, B-68A to be exact, and the Public Health Foundation Of India has been operating out of this spot for quite some time now. Dealing with public health means there are always people around and plenty of files to organize. It’s not the most modern setup you’ve ever seen, but it works for what we do every day. Sometimes the stairs are a bit of a climb when the lift is acting up, which happens more than we’d like. The neighborhood is usually busy with traffic and people going about their business. We spend a lot of our time looking at data and trying to make sense of different health projects across the country. It’s mostly just desks, computers, and a lot of tea being drunk throughout the afternoon to keep us going. We don’t really have any fancy reception area or anything like that. People just walk in, find who they need to talk to, and get to work. It’s a practical space where things actually get done without much fuss. Most of us have been working together here for years, so we know how each other likes their chai. If you’re looking for us, just look for the Shivam Apartments sign and head towards the B block. We’re usually there from morning until late evening, just trying to keep up with the workload.
