About Prakash Shrink Pack India – Industrial Plant & Machines in North West Delhi
We are over in the Dsidc Narela Industrial Area, specifically at Unit-1, Shed No. 2, in Cat-2. Narela is a long way out for some people, but it’s where all the industrial action is. Our shed is pretty big and filled with packaging machinery and rolls of plastic. It’s quite loud when the machines are running, so we usually have to shout a bit to be heard. The floor is concrete and can get pretty cold in the winter months. We do a lot of shrink-wrapping work, which means there’s a lot of heat coming off some of the equipment. It’s a very hands-on job. We don’t have fancy office furniture; most of our chairs are just basic plastic ones and the desks are old metal ones. We spend the day moving rolls of material and checking the seals on the packaging. It’s dusty and there’s always a bit of a plastic smell in the air. We take our breaks near the entrance where there’s a bit of a breeze and some sunlight. Most of the guys here have been working in Narela for years, so we know the local tea stalls and where to get a decent meal. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we do. We just focus on getting the packaging right and making sure the orders are ready for the trucks that come by in the evening. There's always a bit of Nangloi traffic to think about too.
