Jolly Enterprises

Gandhi Gali is one of those places that stays crowded no matter what time it is. Our shop, Jolly Enterprises, is at number 1119. It is a small space, but we have managed to fit everything we need inside. Fatehpuri is a place with a lot of history and a lot of noise. We have been part of this market for years. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who know where everything is kept on the shelves. It might look a bit messy to an outsider, but we have our own system. We deal with people face-to-face every single day. There is no corporate ladder here. We just open the shutters in the morning and start working. Sometimes we have tea with the neighbors while we wait for deliveries. It’s a busy life, but it’s a good one. We don’t spend money on ads or fancy logos. Our name is just painted on the front. If you can find your way through the crowd in the Gali, you’ll find us. We try to keep our prices fair and our talk straight. That is how my father did it and that is how we do it now. It is a simple way to run a shop in a very busy part of Delhi. The stairs leading up to the shop are a bit steep, so you have to watch your step. We’ve had the same lightbulbs flickering for a while, but they still work well enough to see.
