Jatalia Finance

Jatalia Finance is located at H 441 in Shakur Pur, specifically in the Anand Vas area of New Delhi. If you know this part of Delhi, you know that the lanes can be narrow and the houses are built right on top of each other. Our office is right there in the middle of the residential block. It is a very local operation. We don't have a glass-fronted building or a lobby with a security guard. It is just a room with a sturdy door and some desks where we keep the books. Most of our clients are people from the neighborhood who have known us for years. They drop by to talk about their accounts or to ask for advice on some small matter. The atmosphere is very informal. You might hear the neighbors' kids playing outside or someone selling vegetables on the street while we are trying to do the math. We keep everything on paper as much as we can because that is what people around here trust. It gets a bit hot in the summer because the air doesn't move much in these narrow streets, but we have a good fan that keeps us going. We aren't trying to be a big bank or a giant corporation. We are just a local place that helps people manage their money without any big fuss or complicated words. It is practical, everyday work that keeps the community moving, and we are happy to be a part of it in our own small way.
