Itess

Our place, Itess, is located in Model Town III in New Delhi. It’s a duplex, specifically G 3 3. Being in a duplex means we have two floors to work with, which helps keep the noise down a bit. The ground floor is where most of the heavy work happens, with the desks lined up against the walls. We have a lot of extension cords running across the floor, so you have to watch your step. The upstairs is a bit quieter, mostly used for storage and a small area where we can sit and talk without the hum of the machines. New Delhi 110009 is a busy pin code, and the neighborhood is a mix of people living and working. You can hear the vegetable sellers calling out in the street sometimes. The building itself is older, with heavy doors and those metal grills on the windows. It feels solid. We don’t have fancy paintings on the walls, just some calendars and notes pinned up so we don’t forget things. The kitchen is small, barely enough room for the kettle and a few mugs, but we make do. It gets quite bright in the afternoons when the sun hits the front of the house. We’ve grown used to the quirks of the building, like the light switch that sticks sometimes. It’s just a regular office where we handle our daily business. We like the local feel of the neighborhood.
