Indian Railway Project Management Unit

We operate the Indian Railway Project Management Unit from B 3 77 in the railway flats. It is located in Delhi, right near the Rites flats, which makes it a very railway-focused neighborhood. The office itself is essentially a modified flat. It does not look like a standard office building from the outside, which we actually kind of like. Inside, it is a mix of living-room-turned-workspace with desks squeezed into corners. There are stacks of files regarding various railway projects piled up on almost every available surface. Since it is a government unit, we have a lot of paperwork and official logs to maintain. We are not trying to impress anyone with modern furniture or glass walls. We have basic wooden desks and some old metal cupboards for storage. The atmosphere is pretty relaxed but we stay busy because there is always a project deadline coming up. Delhi can be incredibly loud and dusty, but inside the flats, it stays a bit quieter. We have our own little routine, starting the day with some heavy files and finishing with a lot of phone calls to site engineers. It is a very practical environment. Most of us have worked for the railways for a long time, so we are used to how things go. We do not have a mission statement on the wall; we just have a calendar with a lot of deadlines circled in red.
