Grace Plast Inc.

Grace Plast Inc. is located over at the DSIDC Sheds on Lawrence Road. Our specific unit is B-70/63. If you’ve ever been to this part of town, you know it’s mostly just rows of sheds and small factories. It’s dusty and there’s always the sound of machines or trucks in the background. We spend most of our time inside the shed, working with the materials and keeping an eye on the equipment. It’s a practical setup. There’s a small desk in the corner for the bills and the phone, but the rest of the space is for the work. The roof is corrugated metal, so it gets pretty loud when it rains. We have a few guys who have been here with us for years. We eat lunch together near the front door where there’s a bit of a breeze. It’s not the kind of place you’d come for a tour, it’s just where we get things made. Lawrence Road is always crowded with loaders, especially in the mornings. Sometimes the power goes out for an hour, and we just sit and wait it out. It’s just how it is working in an industrial estate. We keep the inventory stacked high and try to keep everything organized, though it gets messy by the end of the week. Then we clean it up and start over on Monday morning. That's life here for us.
