You can find Dmj Creations at 292 Khasra No.1068 in Bhalswa Village, over in the Jahangir puri area. It’s a bit of a trek to get here if you aren't already from around this part of Delhi. The village is always busy with people, kids, and carts moving around in the streets. Our workshop is a bit old-fashioned and simple. We have high ceilings and lots of windows to let in light, though it still gets very stuffy during the summer months. We do a lot of the work by hand or with older machines that we’ve fixed up ourselves over the years. It’s a local operation through and through. We know almost everyone on the street and they all know what we do in here. Sometimes we sit outside on the steps when the power goes out, which happens more often than we’d like in this area. We don't have a fancy catalog or a proper showroom to show off. If you want to see what we're making, you just have to come in and look at the work tables. It’s usually a bit messy with threads and cloth scraps all over the floor. We sweep up at the end of every day, but by the next morning, it’s back to how it was once we start working. We aren't trying to be the biggest company in the world. We just want to keep the shop running and make a decent living for our families. It’s a simple life here in Bhalswa and it suits us fine.
