Balaji Overseas (India)

We’re based out of B-39 on Lawrence Road. Balaji Overseas (India) has been here for quite some time now. If you know Lawrence Road, you know it’s a lot of trucks and warehouses and people moving things around. Our place fits right in with that. We don't have a showroom or anything fancy. It’s mostly just a workspace where we coordinate shipments and handle all the customs stuff. The walls are a bit bare and the desks are cluttered with invoices and shipping manifests. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a sleek office. We just want to get our products where they need to go on time. It can get pretty noisy outside with the traffic, but we’re used to it. Most of our day is spent on the phone or tracking orders. We’re just regular people trying to run a decent business. We don’t use any of those big marketing phrases because they don’t really mean anything to us. We just focus on doing the work and being honest with the people we trade with. We have a small kitchen area where we make tea and heat up our lunches. It’s not much, but it’s enough. We treat our suppliers like neighbors because many of them are. Our clothes are usually a bit wrinkled and our desks are a mess of papers and samples. That’s just how it is when you’re actually doing the work instead of just talking about it. We don't make big promises we can't keep. It is what it is.
