Bajaj Sons

Being located at D-1412 in the New Sabzimandi at Azadpur means our day starts when most people are still fast asleep. It’s pitch black outside when we get to the market, and the whole place is already buzzing with trucks and flashlights. We’ve been operating as Bajaj Sons for a long time now. It’s a family thing, really. My brothers and I handle the daily load, checking the produce that comes in from the farms. The New Sabzimandi is a massive place, and it’s easy to get lost if you don’t know your way around. Our spot is usually crowded with crates of vegetables piled high. It’s not a clean or quiet job. There’s always someone yelling for a price or a worker moving a trolley past your toes. We drink a lot of chai to stay awake during those early hours. By the time the sun is actually up, we’re already halfway through our day. We don't have a fancy office; it’s mostly just a desk tucked into a corner where we keep the records. We deal with farmers and small shopkeepers mostly. It’s a lot of handshakes and quick talk. Some days are better than others, depending on what the harvest looks like. We just keep our heads down and keep the crates moving. It’s what we’ve always done here in Azadpur.
