Loknath Enterprise

We are out here in Kimdurali, just past Baruipur. It is a bit of a drive from the main city, but we like it this way. Most days it is quiet until the afternoon when people start coming by the shop. Loknath Enterprise has been around for a while now. My uncle started it and then we just kept going with what we had. We don’t have fancy signs or anything shiny out front. If you come down to the village post office, you can find us pretty easily right across the road. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon heat, so we just sit outside on the wooden stools until it comes back on. We do whatever work comes our way. It might be selling hardware supplies or just helping people get what they need for their farm or home. The 24 Parganas South area is growing fast, but our corner feels the same as it did many years ago. We know almost everyone who walks through the door by name. It isn't a big operation with many staff members at all. Just a few of us making sure things get done for the neighbors. We don't use much technology here, mostly just writing things down in the big ledger books with a pen. Sometimes the dust from the road gets inside the shop, so we spend a lot of time cleaning the counters. It is honest work and we stay busy enough.
