Taneja Enterprises

Being over here at 308 A on Shahdara’s main GT Road means there is never a quiet moment. The traffic outside is always moving, or at least trying to, and you can hear the horns from the street all day long. We’ve been operating from this spot for a while. It’s a bit of an old building, but it does the job for Taneja Enterprises. Inside, things are mostly packed with boxes and paperwork. We don't have a lot of space to move around, but we know where everything is kept. Most of the time, I’m either on the phone or checking what needs to go out next. The tea stall right outside is where we get our fix three times a day. It’s a tight-knit area, so we know the other shop owners and the guys who deliver stuff. Sometimes the dust from the road gets inside, so we are constantly wiping down the desks. It isn't a glamorous office with glass walls or anything like that. It’s just a practical space where we handle the day-to-day business. We keep the lights on late sometimes when things get backed up. There is a specific way the sun hits the front window in the afternoon, making it quite hot, so we usually keep the shutters halfway down. It’s just how we work here in Shahdara, nothing more and nothing less than that. Most days it’s just about getting the orders sorted.
