Janvi Bag

Our shop, Janvi Bag, is located at G-17, Street No 2 in Ganga Vihar. It’s a quiet little spot compared to some of the bigger markets in the city. We aren't on a main road, so you really have to be looking for Street No 2 to find us. It’s a small operation. We don’t have a lot of employees, just a few of us who do everything from sewing to cleaning the floors. Most of our day is spent at the machines or sorting through materials. We have bags in various stages of being finished all over the place. Sometimes it’s a bit of a mess, but we know where everything is. People from around Ganga Vihar stop by just to say hello or to see what we’re working on. We don't have any fancy mission statements or corporate goals. We just want to make bags that work and earn a living. The light in the shop isn't great, so we usually have the big lights on all day. It gets a bit stuffy in the afternoons, but we open the door to let some air in from the street. We’ve got a routine that works for us. We start early, take a long break for lunch, and then work until the sun goes down. It’s a simple life. We don’t need anything more than our tools and a bit of space to work.
