Z. A. Enterprises

Z. A. Enterprises is located at 2822 in the Pahari Bhojla area, very close to the big Jama Masjid. If you've ever walked those streets, you know they are narrow and full of history. We have a small office and storage space here. Most of our work involves sourcing and supplying different goods to the local markets. It is a very traditional way of doing business. We don't use much technology besides an old computer for the basic records. Most of our deals are done with a handshake and a cup of tea. The building we are in is quite old, with high ceilings and thick walls that stay cool even in the Delhi summer. We spend our days coordinating with transporters and checking the quality of the items that arrive. It gets very loud outside with the calls to prayer and the tourists and the vendors all shouting at once. We like the energy of the place though. It feels real. We aren't trying to be the biggest company in the world. We just want to provide for our families and keep the business running smoothly year after year. Every morning we open up the heavy metal shutters and start sorting through the day's tasks. There is always a lot of heavy lifting involved and the stairs are quite steep. It's a simple life, but it keeps us rooted in the community here. It’s just how we do things in old Delhi.
